How to get a cleaner transparent PNG
- Choose a JPG or PNG with a clearly visible subject.
- Select the corner that contains the background colour you want removed.
- Start with a lower tolerance and increase it gradually if background pixels remain.
- Download the PNG and inspect edges around hair, glass and shadows before using it.
Important limitations
This is a simple colour-based remover, not an AI subject detector. It removes pixels similar to the selected corner colour, so it works best with a plain, evenly lit background. It can remove parts of the subject when those pixels have a similar colour, and it may leave a halo on complex backgrounds. Use an original copy of the image and check the downloaded result before publishing it.
File handling
Image processing happens in your browser. The tool accepts images up to 15 MB and 40 megapixels to limit browser memory use. Very large images may be slow or fail on devices with limited memory.
