Understand the savings estimates
SIP: the result is an illustration based on the monthly contribution and assumed annual return. Market-linked returns are not guaranteed, and actual SIP outcomes depend on contribution timing, expenses and market performance.
Fixed deposit (FD): maturity depends on the bank's rate, compounding frequency, tenure, payout option, tax and premature-withdrawal rules. Compare the calculator's compounding assumption with the actual product terms.
Recurring deposit (RD): deposits are made periodically, so the estimate is not the same as investing the entire amount on day one. Banks may use specific quarterly-compounding and rounding conventions; treat this as an approximation.
Savings growth: the result assumes a steady return and regular monthly additions. Real returns can vary, and inflation reduces future purchasing power.
Example
Investing ₹2,000 per month for 5 years means total contributions of ₹1,20,000 before any return. The estimated balance changes with the assumed rate; it is not a promise of earnings.
